The Romans marched into Cricklade on Tuesday for an afternoon of feasting fun.
All Year 3 pupils dressed up in their Roman finary taking the roles of either master, entertainer or slave. There was a delicious spread of food that included chicken with honey, olives, dates, bread, grapes and even some 'wine'.
The masters enjoyed the opportunity to order around their slaves and made them work hard for their food while they reclined and relaxed. There was a variety of entertainments including singing, dancing, piano playing and even a tutorial on how to play golf.
The afternoon finale was a visit from Mrs Kinder who played her harp while telling tales of Roman Gods and Godesses. The Year 3 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon and it was great to see them so involved in their roles.
