Pianist’s performance of distinction

At Prior Park Prep School the ethos is ‘music for all’ with a dedicated music staff nurture and nourish young musicians in the classroom, in extra-curricular activities, in rehearsal and performance.  This March the results of that commitment to music were shown through the success of one Year 7 pupil, Ben.

At the Swindon Music Festival (SMF) Ben achieved First in Class with a Distinction, scoring an overall mark of 89% for one of his Grade 6 pieces.  The young pianist performed "Cruella de Vil", by Melville A. Leven, from the Disney film, "101 Dalmatians", in the Modern Popular Piano Solo - 11 and under category.

For the successful student this was a fourth successive, SMF piano first since he began entering both classical and modern class competitions at the Festival in 2014.

On the day he received a Winner’s medal, festival certificate and adjudicators report, which will be presented again during school assembly this term.

We wish to convey our huge gratitude to Prior Park Prep School for the tremendous support and encouragement given, by each and every one of you, to our son in working towards this achievement.

Ben's proud parents

We do all we can to nourish our young Musicians at Prior Park Prep School and to give them opportunities to enable them to develop the confidence that they need to perform publically. We are very proud and privileged to be a part of the successes they achieve as a result.
