Junior Choir Joins 6000 Singers in Birmingham

Last Friday, 23 members of the Prior Park Prep Junior Choir took the bus to Birmingham to spend the day preparing for the 'Young Voices' concert at the Genting Arena, Birmingham.

Singing with over 6000 other choristers from schools spread far and wide across the country, pupils rehearsed and performed numbers including The Gospel Medley, Transport of Delight, Utter Madness and The Power in Me. The day was busy and tiring – and as you can imagine with 6000+ youngsters in their own rock concert, a little noisy too! – but it was a vivid and intensely happy memory for everybody who took part or went along to watch.

Pupils were also treated to some amazing performances from professional singers, this year including Tom Billington and Laura Wright, whose rendition of The World in Union was a favourite with many of the choristers. The fantastic Beat Collective also help everyone improve their beat-boxing!

Thank you to all the staff who supported the day and the adventures of singing (and joined in with the moves) and to parents who made the journey up to watch their children.
