Prior Park Prep School is to share expertise and passion for cricket with children local to Cricklade as part of the England Cricket Board (ECB) All Stars cricket initiative.
Having recently received accreditation, Head of Boys games, James Barton from Prior Park Prep School near Swindon, will lead the sessions for boys and girls aged 5-8, from Sunday 21May.
Eight Sunday sessions will be offered at Cricklade Cricket club, but with one key difference - the innovative new scheme will encourage parents to participate, to help their children develop movement skills.
The All Stars cricket scheme takes this approach in order to get kids to enjoy being active and share some valuable time with their parents.
To develop basic cricket skills, All Stars teaches batting, catching, bowling and teamwork.
Spaces are still available. If you sign up by midnight on Wednesday 10 May you will be entered into the All Stars prize draw. This will give you the chance to claim one of 500 places at an England Cricket training session, including the chance to meet England and Yorkshire County cricketer Joe Root.
Course fees are £40 and this includes a free goody bag containing backpack, bat, ball, personalised shirt, cap and water bottle. Interested parents can sign their children up online at All Stars cricket.
