Art in Science

Early Monday morning all the Year 6 pupils gathered on the coach to make the trip to the Life Sciences Department at Bristol University. Here they had the opportunity to see their fabulous paintings of beetles next to images submitted by research scientists. The exhibition highlighted how beautiful science can be. Visitors were invited to leave comments next to the paintings on the exhibition and the beetles drew much attention.

The pupils then took part in 3 activities which were titled "Little to large-microscopes and telescopes". Here they saw what a dragonfly looks like when magnified 400 times. Also they were able to build their own neurones.

Mrs Pallak, Head of Science said: "It was inspiring for the pupils to be in such a new and innovative building that had been opened just last year by Sir David Attenborough."
