Spiritual Life

Prior Park is a welcoming and caring community with a Catholic Christian ethos in which the values of empathy, tolerance and forgiveness are taught and respected both inside and outside the classroom.

We aim to help parents to nurture their children, integrating spiritual maturity and academic excellence with a rounded social and physical development. We encourage our pupils to be individuals of conscience, compassion and conviction, with an understanding of social justice and a readiness to help others.

The School Chapel is part of our life here. We share our Christian faith with the children and encourage collective and private prayer. Every Thursday the school comes together in a collective act of worship. Twice a term we celebrate Mass, in which all pupils take an active part. Children from all denominations read from scripture at the lectern, as well as contribute their own bidding prayers. The Chapel is always available to anyone in the school community for quiet reflection.

Families can enjoy celebrating the First Holy Communion of their son or daughter at the school and, at a later date, preparation for Confirmation. We also celebrate with the wider community in other local churches.

The Catholic ethos emphasises care, help and respect for others.
