Pre-Prep Curriculum

At Prior Park we understand the importance of selecting the right school for your child. When children join Prior Park Pre-Prep they are joining a genuinely family-orientated community. We are part of a family of schools where we embrace initiative, exploration and curiosity, but where we still have time for good manners, care for others and traditional values.

Welcoming Children from 3 to 7 Years
We aim to offer you and your child the best possible start to their life at school. The choices made in the earliest years are the ones that play the largest role in developing and shaping your child’s future success.

We feel positive relationships with families supports mutual understanding and respect which in turn gives a positive role model for children, reinforcing the value of education.

Nursery
In September 2010, we welcomed, for the first time, children from three years old. Nursery children are eligible for the Nursery Education Grant, reducing the amount of school fees payable.

Curriculum
Children at Prior Park Pre-Prep enjoy busy and inspiring school days. Our teaching staff offer a rich and varied curriculum including French from Reception onwards. Small class sizes and high staff ratios mean that every child is given the attention they deserve. In core subjects like Maths and English they are educated to high standards. Our Science curriculum introduces them to the excitement of scientific investigation, while our lively Humanities curriculum gives them a deeper understanding of the world in which they live.

We understand that children develop in many different ways and at different rates and so are understanding of each child’s individual needs and progress.

Opening up Opportunities
Every child at Prior Park Pre-Prep will begin to discover new talents, whether in academic subjects or through our wonderful enrichment programme which will introduce them to all sorts of new skills and activities. We offer a wide range of educational trips, visiting speakers and an exciting choice of after-school clubs and activities. Our extended day (with before and after school care) means that working parents can leave their children safe in the knowledge that they are happy and cared for.

An Inspiring Environment
Set in a tranquil walled garden, the school is housed in its own bright and airy self-contained building, offering a secure and welcoming atmosphere for our children. Children also benefit from the specialist teaching areas and extensive sporting facilities available at the main Prep School. We share many of the amenities of the Prep School making our small building a very well equipped Pre-Prep.

Our outdoor spaces are the perfect setting for developing enquiring minds and we make great use of our own grounds, the surrounding countryside and weekly visits to the Forest School.

Above all Prior Park Pre-Prep is a friendly, nurturing environment where happy, confident children play and learn. Achieving their potential and encouraging their ambition in a safe, caring, family environment.

The Prep School and Beyond
A Prior Park Pre-Prep education is the ideal stepping stone to the Prep School. By the time your child is ready to move on; the familiarity with their surroundings and staff, as well as the facilities, will help them develop what they have already learned and enable them to progress to the next stage of their life with confidence. At 13, a large percentage of our children move on to our own high-achieving senior school, Prior Park College in Bath.
